After producing the preliminary task, where we learnt how to use the 180 degree rule, continuity editing, match on action and various other shots, both Paul and I, who were originally in a different AS group last year, have learnt a lot from our production last year. The film, named ‘Regret’ was a B grade. One thing was to allow a very long period of time for shooting, even though the film was only two minutes long it took time to set up the shots and to travel to the two locations we used, so this year, we will have to allocate a lot more time for filming because it can be up to five minutes long.
We were told to film early because there was a limit to the amount of equipment available, so we finished our storyboards as soon as possible to make sure we could get hold of the equipment, we have done the same this year as we managed to think up a good idea quite quickly. We filmed in one location on one day and another site on two occasions, so we had to make sure that the weather was very similar on all three days, and that the only character wore the same clothes, as the film has to be more than twice as long we will have to film on more than a couple of days, so the weather has to be similar every time.
Once the filming was finished we could then get on with editing our film and completing the blog. Although we still feel our blog was a little short, so this year we intend to get blog posts done as quickly and efficiently as possible, we will have to make posts on everything we do towards our production, plus extra textual analysis and evaluations. Last year we split blog posts up almost evenly, with myself doing fewer, but much more lengthy blog posts, and Paul doing most of the shorter posts.
Here is the comleted thriller from last year.
